As an Association we strive to create an environment that allows industry awareness and a sense of comradery. Our relationships with Members of the WSPMA are open and honest and help to provide self discipline. Through the volunteer efforts of our Members we have grown into a fantastic organization that will continue to serve the needs of our Members.

Stepping into Advocacy: A First Timer’s Look at Legislative Day

Government Affairs

Attending Legislative Day for the first time was an eye-opening and rewarding experience. It began with NPMA sessions focused on key industry issues and continued with meetings on Capitol Hill, where participants met with Washington state representatives to advocate for the pest management profession. Although initially overwhelming, the energy and engagement from both advocates and lawmakers made it exciting. The experience highlighted the importance of sharing our industry's story and encouraged others to get involved in local advocacy efforts.

In our March meeting, we discussed cross-training, mentorship, and launched a new Soft Skills Training Series. We also highlighted upcoming events, including PWIPM at the Park (April 26), the “Starve the Mosquitoes” blood drive (May 17), and the Steps of Hope fundraiser (June 1). Washington State Commission on Integrated Pest Management: Why It Matters to WSPMA Members

The Washington State Commission on Integrated Pest Management (WCIPM) supports research, regulation, and collaboration across industries to improve pest management statewide. WSPMA ensures applicators have representation in these discussions and encourages more structural and urban pest research.
