WSPMA Statement on Licensing Integrity
WSPMA
The Washington State Pest Management Association (WSPMA) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in the pest management industry. It has recently come to our attention that the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) conducted an investigation into prohibited activities, specifically cheating on state licensing exams, by a company based outside Washington but operating within our state. While the investigation has concluded and resulted in fines, WSPMA wants to make it clear that such actions are in violation of state statutes and WSDA rules.
WSPMA does not tolerate any activity that compromises the integrity of our profession. While the company involved is not, and has never been, a member of WSPMA, we strongly encourage all pest management professionals operating in Washington to join our association, where we promote compliance with the highest standards of practice. Our members are committed to meeting and exceeding industry standards and take the responsibility of protecting public health seriously.
Moving forward, WSPMA will continue to focus on promoting education, adherence to legal and regulatory guidelines, and the professional development of all pest management professionals in our state. Together, we will ensure that our industry remains a trusted partner in protecting homes and businesses while safeguarding public health.
