WSPMA Attends Washington Friends of Farms and Forests Legislative Reception
Government Affairs
The Washington State Pest Management Association (WSPMA) was proud to attend the Washington Friends of Farms and Forests Legislative Reception in Olympia, joining leaders from agriculture, manufacturing, and forestry to engage with legislators from across the state. Events like this provide a valuable opportunity to highlight the role our industries play in protecting Washington’s economy, environment, and communities.
A special thank you to WSPMA President Steve Wittig for making the drive to Olympia to represent our association and ensure our industry’s voice was heard. His leadership and commitment continue to make a meaningful impact.
During the reception, we met with multiple Washington Representatives and Senators and had an especially productive and in-depth conversation with Representative Morgan, Vice Chair of the House Agriculture Committee. Our discussion focused on HB 2516 and the critical importance of professional pest management in safeguarding homes, businesses, the food chain, and public health. These conversations reinforced how essential science-based pest management is to community protection and overall quality of life across Washington.
WSPMA remains committed to collaborating with policymakers and partner industries to advocate for practical, informed policies that support public health, agriculture, and environmental stewardship.
