As an Association we strive to create an environment that allows industry awareness and a sense of comradery. Our relationships with Members of the WSPMA are open and honest and help to provide self discipline. Through the volunteer efforts of our Members we have grown into a fantastic organization that will continue to serve the needs of our Members.

PWIPM May Meeting Recap
PWIPM
Thank you to Jessica Townsend (American Pest & Crawl) for leading a powerful discussion on navigating stress and supporting teams during busy times. The group explored the impact of modern information overload, the challenges of leadership and boundary-setting, and strategies for maintaining work-life balance. We also shared vacation policies, team communication tips, and ideas for sustaining wellness in high-pressure roles. The meeting concluded with updates on Steps of Hope (June 7), PWIPM award nominations (open through June 30), and early planning for the 2026 meeting calendar. In Memory of Greg Williams: A Pillar of Service in Northwest Pest Control

We are saddened to share that Greg Williams, a respected Customer Service Representative in the Northwest pest control industry, has passed away at age 67. Known for his reliability and deep industry knowledge, Greg served companies across Oregon and Washington with dedication. He held degrees in Horticulture and Business and was a passionate history reader. His presence and professionalism will be deeply missed.

Urban Pest Management at the Washington Commission on IPM

At the May meeting of the Washington Commission on IPM, WSPMA Policy Affairs Representative Billy Olesen highlighted the critical role of urban pest management in protecting public health and infrastructure. He emphasized the unique challenges faced in structural settings—like schools and hospitals—and the need for science-based, empathetic practices. Key issues included rodenticide regulations, mental health-related service calls, and the importance of industry representation in statewide IPM planning.

Registration Now Open for WSPMA’s 2025 Summer Meeting
Registration is now open for WSPMA’s 2025 Summer Meeting, taking place August 21–23 at Skamania Lodge. This event features business-building sessions, expert speakers from PCO Bookkeepers, Stop Claims, WSU, and ESA, plus networking with PWIPM and PestVets. Jen Fox will kick things off with an inspiring keynote. Early bird registration is $175 through July 1. Book your room by July 20 for the group rate.

In Loving Memory of Tim Baker
Tim Baker, former Executive Director of WSPMA, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. A beloved leader, mentor, and friend, Tim dedicated over four decades to the pest management industry. His legacy of connection, service, and heart shaped WSPMA and touched countless lives. A celebration of his life will be held on May 23. Memories and photos can be shared with his daughter Samantha at smalone@wspma.com. He will be deeply missed.
