Supreme Court Roundup Decision Strengthens EPA Label Authority

The U.S. Supreme Court's recent Roundup decision reinforces that EPA-approved pesticide labels cannot be challenged by state courts for lacking warnings the EPA chose not to require. The ruling strengthens label consistency, reduces litigation-driven product changes, and has important implications for Washington's pesticide regulatory framework. While it does not change applicator responsibilities, it shifts future disputes toward EPA's registration process rather than state court litigation.

WSDA Announces Changes to Idaho Reciprocal Licensing Effective January 1, 2027

WSDA recently mailed notices to Washington licensees who obtained their pesticide applicator license through Idaho reciprocity. Due to certification rule changes taking effect January 1, 2027, reciprocal licensing requirements will change. WSDA recommends affected licensees recertify through Washington using approved continuing education credits earned in the state.
